Norske Shell – Draugen platform
Location: DraugenPeriod: 2016 – 2018Customer: Aibel, Kristiansund Application area: Flow Diesel Refurbishment Gas production at Draugen is declining and there is expected to be a shortage of gas used for electrical production.
The current philosophy is to use diesel as a substitute for fuel gas for generator turbines (GT) and Produced Water Re-injection Pumps (PWRI).
All turbines have the option to run on either gas or diesel.
The diesel system that feeds the three GTs and two PRWIs was originally designed as a backup and emergency system, and is not suitable for continuous operation.
