Equinor Mongstad – Johan Sverdrup<\/h4>\n

Location: MongstadPeriod: 2017 – 2018Customer<\/strong>: Aker Solutions, Bergen Application: Pressure relief valves pipelines – loading area<\/strong> BH Flexflo pressure relief valves valves (pressure surges \/ anti surge valves) are installed at Mongstad and have protected instruments and pipelines against potentially harmful pressure waves (water hammer) for approx.
\n30 years.
\nWhen the Johan Sverdrup field started up in 2019, the volume and viscosity of incoming oil increased.
\nThe pressure relief valves also had to increase their capacity to accommodate the new conditions.
\nInstead of installing more pressure relief valves, we proposed using instrument panels that increased the capacity of the 11 existing Flexflo valves.
\nWith this solution, each valve has a higher capacity and the total number of pressure relief valves required was actually reduced.
\nFewer valves also means lower maintenance costs going forward.
\nAs part of the upgrade, some of the internal parts of the valves were replaced. <\/p>\n
